Doris R. Cowie

Alexander - Mrs. Doris R. Cowie, 87, of Alexander, died Monday, (July 14, 2008) at home while under HomeCare and Hospice.

Mrs. Cowie was born August 30, 1920 in Rochester, the daughter of the late Fred H.  and Gabriella (Moore) Etter.

Mrs. Cowie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, flowers and all animals, especially birds.

Survivors include two sons, John T. (Georgette) Cowie of Batavia and James L. Cowie of Buffalo; two daughters, Llana G. Cowie of Alexander and Sheri L. (Mark) Whyle of Lancaster; ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Leslie Cowie died in 1980.

Calling hours are Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia.  Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in East Bethany Cemetery.   Memorials may be made to Wyoming County SPCA, 808 Creek Road Attica, New York 14011 or a charity of the donor's choice.
