Mrs. Margaret M. Hinkson
Batavia - Mrs. Margaret M. “Peggy” Hinkson, age 78, of Batavia, head nurse at the intensive care unit at the former St. Jerome Hospital in Batavia, died Friday, June 20, 2008 at United Memorial Medical Center, in Batavia.
Mrs. Hinkson was born December 14, 1929 in Rochester, the daughter of the late Peter and Mary Kane Schug.
A member of Resurrection Parish and the VFW Auxiliary, Mrs. Hinkson enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino. A graduate of the Nazareth Academy, she attended nursing school at Canisius College. She worked at the former St. Jerome Hospital for over 35 years.
Her husband, Robert W. Hinkson died February 29, 2000.
Survivors include two sons, James R. (Glenna) Hinkson of East Bethany and David M. Hinkson of Batavia; a daughter, Patricia E. (James A.) Welch of Elba; six grandchildren, Jesse, Alyssa and Kaleigh Hinkson and Michael, Katie and Kasey Welch; a brother, John Schug of Greece; two sisters-law, Rita Zack of Batavia and Mickey (Edwin) Yasses of Stafford and several nieces and nephews survive.
She was the sister of the late Peter and James Schug.
