Miss Virginia J. Reis

Byron - Miss Virginia J. Reis, 21, of Byron, a Junior at SUNY Purchase, died Monday, May 19, 2008 as the results of a house fire in Byron.

Miss Reis was born January 30, 1987 in Sumpter, SC, a daughter of David Reis of SC and the late Cheryl (Allyn) Reis who died in the same fire.

She was a member of the Byron Bergen Class of 2005.  She was a Junior at SUNY Purchase with interest in acting, theater and movies.  She enjoyed acting in plays both at Byron-Bergen and Purchase as well as playing soccer.  She also worked at Wendy’s and the Dollar Store, both in Batavia.

Survivors include her grandparents, Raymond and Jean Allyn of Bergen and Joy Reis of SC; and an aunt, Susan (JR) Fabretti of Greece.

She is the sister of the late Timothy Reis and Emily Reis who perished in the same house fire and niece of the late Debra Dutton.

Friends may attend services at 1 p.m. Saturday at Byron - Bergen High School Gymnasium, 6917 West Bergen Road, Bergen.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bergen United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 216, Bergen, New York 14416 to be distributed to various charities. Private burial will be in Mt. Rest Cemetery in Bergen.  Arrangements were completed by H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home of Bergen.
