Batavia- Adelyn Pero, 62, native of Batavia, longtime resident of Florida, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, in Williamsville while under the care of hospice after a 2 year battle with cancer. Adelyn was born July 4, 1955 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Charles R. Pero and Marien Pixley Pero. She is also predeceased by her nephew, Michael C. Napoleone, who passed away on December 30, 2006. Adelyn was a member of the Class of 1973 at Notre Dame High School. She was employed most recently for the City of West Palm Beach and for many years prior at Florida Power and Light. She served on the Board of Directors for the Michael Napoleone Memorial Foundation for a number of years. "Addie" was a big fan of the Buffalo Bills, The New York Yankees and the University of Notre Dame. Adelyn's home in Florida was a "home away from home" for many friends and family over the years. She will be remembered for her fun-loving spirit, her ability to make others laugh, and her love for music, singing and dancing. She loved her nieces and nephews like they were her own children and their friends even referred to her as "Aunt Ad". She is survived by her brothers Charles (Linda) Pero, III of Buffalo and David (Trish) Pero of Batavia; her sister, Laurie (Mark) Napoleone of Lockport; loving nieces and nephews, Michael (Beth) Pero of Victor, Amy Southcott of Greece, Nicholas Pero of Boston, Massachusetts, Kelly Zuzze' of Buffalo, David (Heather) Pero of Brockport, Gina Pero of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jeff Pero of Batavia, Ashley (Michael) McGowan of Clarence,  Mark (Maria) Napoleone of Lockport and Christen Napoleone of Lockport, along with several great-nieces and great-nephews. She also leaves behind many close friends in Florida. Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia. Addie’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9 a.m. at Ascension Parish, 15 Sumner Street, Batavia.  She will be laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Michael Napoleone Memorial Foundation, P.O. Box 267, Batavia, New York 14021.
