Batavia - Mr. Alan Furber, age 75, of Batavia, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at his home in Batavia surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Furber was born March 16, 1939 in Chester, England, a son of the late Thomas and Dorothy Beecroft Furber.
An avid fisherman and golfer, Mr. & Mrs. Furber wintered for several years in Florida. He retired from Home Medical Supply, Inc. in Batavia. He also worked as Produce Manager for Marchese's grocery store for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marion Bate Furber; two daughters, Karen (John) Campbell of Chili; Elaine (Graham) Harding of Batavia and; three grandchildren, J.R. (Jill) Campbell of Batavia and Jeffrey Campbell of Batavia; Amanda Jane Harding of Charlotte, North Carolina, his great-grandson, Nathan Campbell of Batavia; his brother, Brian (Judy) Furber of Chester, England and several nieces and nephews.
There are no prior visiting hours. Friends are invited to his memorial service on Saturday November 8th at 10:30 a.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street.
