Perry - Alfred C. Gray, Sr., age 73, of Perry, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Wyoming County Community Hospital.
Mr. Gray was born June 16, 1941 in Batavia, a son of the late Alfred E. and Dorothy Andrews Gray.
He attended school in Elba and was a die-hard fan of the Buffalo Bills. He enjoyed watching football, woodworking, hiking, fishing, canoeing, camping and riding his motorcycle. Mr. Gray loved going to Letchworth State Park and being with his grandchildren. Along with his wife Caroline, they managed Kwik-Fill gas stations in Batavia on Cedar Street and Clinton Street Road.
He is survived by his wife, Caroline M. Lougheed Gray, whom he married June 16, 1962; his children, Donna Gray Bonczyk of Batavia, Lee (Sharri) Gray of Corfu and Caroline (Michael) Nichols of Perry; three brothers, Wilbur (Dawn) Gray of Batavia, David (Esther) Gray of Elba and Herbert (Don McCall) Gray of Rochester; his brother-in-law, James (Nancy) Lougheed of Washington; two sisters-in-law, Beverly (Charles) Wenzel of Webster and Donna Lougheed of Florida; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his son Alfred C. Gray, Jr. who passed away on July 30, 2004; his sister, Virginia Benson and his brother-in-law, Harry Lougheed.
There are no prior visiting hours. His services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Batavia VFW Post #1602, 25 Edwards Street, Batavia. Please consider memorials to the family.
