Alice Anna Zwick
Batavia - Alice Anna Zwick, 99, of Batavia, a school teacher at the Springville Parochial School in Springville, NY, died Monday, December 31, 2012 at LeRoy Village Green Nursing Facility, in LeRoy.
Mrs. Zwick was born April 9, 1913 in Buffalo, a daughter of the late George and Clara (Gund) Troidl.
She was a graduate of Hutchison High School in Buffalo, member of Resurrection Parish, St. Joseph's Church and was active in crafts, knitting, crochet and sewing for under privileged children and the poor.
Her husband, Frank George Zwick, died January 20, 2010.
Survivors include her daughter, Jean (Joseph) Zaso of Batavia, her son-in-law, Paul Frietag of Cheektowaga, her brother, John (Susan) Troidl of Lancaster, 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late DeAnna Freitag and sister of the late Roy, Clara and Lois.
Friends may call on Friday from 10-11:30 a.m. at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 E. Main St., Batavia. Her Mass of Christian burial will be at 12 p.m. Friday at Resurrection Parish - St. Joseph Site, 303 E. Main St., Batavia. Memorials may be made to Leroy Village Green Nursing Home, 10 Munson St., Leroy, NY 14482 or to Genesee County Nursing Home, 278 Bank St., Batavia, NY 14020. Burial will be in Grand View Cemetery.
