Oakfield - Mrs. Amber I. Williams Claire, 96, of Oakfield,15-year employee of G.T.E. Sylvania in Batavia, died Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Batavia Health Care Center.
She was born October 2, 1916 in Fine, a daughter of the late Harry and Ethel Curtis Ward.
She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and working crossword puzzles and loved stuffed animals.
She is predeceased by her husband, Walter A. Williams who died August 13, 1970 and Jack E. Claire who died July 24, 1992.
She is survived by her children, Walter H. Williams of Batavia, John F. (Mary) Williams of Florida, Joan Cone of Oakfield, Al (Sheila) Williams of Oregon, Francis (Karen) Williams of Batavia, David (Pat) Williams of Oakfield, Wilbur (Sandi) Williams of Tennessee, Melody (Richard) Say of Batavia and Ralph Williams of Oakfield; 35 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; a brother, George Ward of Washington; a sister, Jenny (Gaylord) Reeves of Kansas and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by six brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield, where services will immediately follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be in St. Cecilia's Cemetery.
