Ann R. DeSormeau, 94, of Spencerport and formerly of Batavia, died Tuesday (October 22, 2013) at the Wedgewood Nursing Home in Spencerport.
Ann was born June 27, 1919 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Brenkus) Tatarka.
A veteran, she served during World War II with the United States Army. She was a member of Resurrection Parish and volunteered at St. Joseph's School in Batavia. Ann was a registered nurse at the New York State School For The Blind in Batavia and also worked at the former St. Jerome Hospital in Batavia.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann (Charles) Crassi of Spencerport and Joan (Peter) Jackson of Hilton; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
She is the sister of the late Joseph Tatarka, John Tatarka, Francis Tatarka and Mary Stawski.
There are no prior calling hours. Services will be on Saturday, November 9th at11:00 a.m. at St. John The Evangelist Church, 55 Martha Street, Spencerport. Entombment will be in St. Joseph's Mausoleum, Batavia.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
