BATAVIA – Anna May Maher, 92, of Batavia and formerly of Pavilion and Oakfield passed away peacefully on January 22, 2018, at the United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia. She was born Anna May Feeney, on May 14, 1925, to the late Martin and Agnes (Gallagher) Feeney in Mottville, in the town of Skaneateles, NY. It was an area that remained near and dear to her heart for her entire life. She often recounted the many summers spent as a youth with her beloved family on Skaneateles Lake. A homemaker, she spent her adult life devoted to her family and home. Anna loved animals and all of nature. In earlier years, she loved to garden with her husband. She will be remembered for her cheerful smile, her loving kindness, and her ability to see the beauty in all of God's creation. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Maher, who died in 2005. She is also preceded by her brothers, James, William, Vernon, & Donald, and by her daughter-in-law Gina Maher. Surviving are her two children: Martin Maher of Oakfield, and Noreen (David) Tillotson of Pavilion. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Nicholas Maher, Megan (Jesse) DeNardin, Matthew (Anmarie) Maher, Jonathan (Callin) Tillotson; great-grandchildren Emma, Erin, and Jonathan Tillotson; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to acknowledge the dedicated staff of the second floor at the United Memorial Medical Center for the excellent care and compassion shown to Anna and her family while she was in their care. There will be no visitation. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lollypop Farm, online at www.Lollypop.org or to Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Rd., Fairport, NY, 14450. Burial will be in St. Cecelia's Cemetery, Oakfield. Arrangements were entrusted to the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Ave., Oakfield.
