Batavia - Bertha J. Gage, 92, of Batavia, passed away Easter Sunday, (March 27, 2016) at Batavia Health Care Center, in Batavia.
Mrs. Gage was born July 1, 1923 in Elba, NY, the daughter of the late John and Flossie (Harvey) Bartz.
Mrs. Gage was a past member of Stone Presbyterian Church as well as a past member of Batavia Assembly of God Church. She cherished time spent with her family. She never missed a family function and greatly looked forward to the annual family reunion. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, patchwork and quilting. She took great pride in creating a handmade treasure for many members of her family. One of Bertha's favorite pastimes was taking walks in the woods behind her home.
She is the wife of the late Laverne I. Gage, who passed away on August 28, 2001.
She is survived by her children, Dorothy (David) Dixon of Port Byron, Nancy (William) Marinucci of Churchville, Lucille (late Denny) Zeghdani of Bergen, and Jerry Gage of Rochester. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter, 3 brothers and a sister along with several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Gage is preceded in death by 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
Friends may call on Friday (April 1, 2016) from 10 to 12 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main St., Batavia, where Bertha's Funeral Service will immediately following calling at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be in Grand View Cemetery, Batavia.
