Batavia - Mrs. Beth Diane Ryan, 72, of Batavia, parole transcriptionist for the Attica Department of Corrections, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2013 at the Genesee County Nursing Home.
Mrs. Ryan was born March 8, 1941 in Plattsburgh, the daughter of the late Curtis W. and Bernice Spry Scharping.
A talented artist, she had a great love for animals, especially horses and enjoyed attending horse shows. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers and loved spending time with her grandsons.
Beth made belts and boot tops for Santa Claus suits which were sold all over the world.
Survivors include her children, Darcy Detine of Corning, Jason (Becky) Sando of Elba and Amy Perkins of Albion; two grandsons, Garrett and Wyatt Sando; her brother, Marhlon (Alice) Scharping of Attica and several nieces and nephews.
There are no prior visiting hours. Family and friends are invited to attend graveside services on Friday at 11 a.m. at Mount Albion Cemetery, Route 31, Albion.
