Betty Muriel Brandt Jones
LeRoy - Mrs. Betty Muriel Brandt Jones, 95, passed quietly away around noon on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Leroy Village Green Nursing Home in Leroy. She was formerly of Oakfield and Batavia, and was a former secretary having worked at Buffalo's Courier Express.
Mrs. Jones was born April 21, 1918 in Westfield, NJ, a daughter of the late Arthur Charles and Ethel Mary (Wade) Brandt.
She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, and the former St. Michael's Church in Oakfield. During World War II, she traveled to Atlanta, GA to work for the Bell Aircraft Company.
Her husband, Merton "Josh" Alexander Jones, died May 1, 2000.
Surviving is her daughter, Janus Mary Jones and her partner, David P. Damico, both of LeRoy and a nephew, Lawrence W. MacGregor of FL.
She was the sister of the late Natalie Lois MacGregor.
Services will be announced at a later date. Memorials may be made to Crossroads House, P.O. Box 403, Batavia, NY 14021. Burial will be in Daws Corner's Cemetery. Arrangements were completed by H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia.
