Betty (Krueger) Lander, 89, of Batavia, died Thursday (January 19, 2017) at the United Memorial Medical Center.
Betty was born July 2, 1927 in Elba, a daughter of the late John and Huldah (Bratt) Krueger.
Betty was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Batavia and its 20-30 Club. Betty was a fan of country music, a microfilm technician for the Douglas Aircraft in Santa Monica, California and she frequently visited England. She attended Elba High School and was a 1947 graduate of Santa Monica High School.
Survivors include one son, James (Sarah) Lander of England; three grandchildren, Jamie Hughes, George Lander and Victoria Lander, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews including Kathy (Larry) Belluscio of Byron.
Betty is the wife of the late Harmon Lander, mother of the late John Lander and sister of the late John Krueger, Virginia Temple and Bertha Oliphant.
Calling hours are Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main St., Batavia. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church, 300 East Main Street, Batavia. A reception will be held in the fellowship hall of the church immediately after Betty's funeral. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Batavia.
