Oakfield - Carmen F. Scopano, 85, of Oakfield, the owner of the former Dew Drop Inn in Oakfield, died Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at New York State Veteran's Home, in Batavia.
Mr. Scopano was born November 11, 1930 in Oakfield, a son of the late Carmine and Lillian (Garrow) Scopano.
He served with the Navy from 1947 to 1951 and he was an avid hunter and fisherman. It was said that he lived for hunting. Mr. Scopano loved dogs and raised many beagles.
His wife, Clementine (Sinclair) Scopano, died August 21, 1990.
Surviving are 2 sisters, Linda (Donald) Engle of Elba and Lillian Pridmore of GA; 2 sisters-in-law, Arlene Scopano of FL and Rose Scopano of LeRoy; several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of Fred, John, Henry, Joe, Frank, Anna, Mary and Cecelia.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, 370 7th Avenue, Suite 1802, New York, NY 10001. Arrangements were completed by Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield. Private burial will be at Cary Cemetery in Oakfield.
