Celia C. Ratulowski, 97, of Batavia, passed away on Tuesday (August 23, 2016) at the Genesee County Nursing Home in Batavia.
Celia was born November 11, 1918 in Forks, NY, a daughter of the late Anthony and Gladys (Sulinski) Slominski.
A member of Resurrection Parish, Celia enjoyed bingo, cooking, word searches and bicycling. She will be remembered for baking her excellent pies. Celia was a press operator at R.E. Chapin Manufacturing in Batavia.
Survivors include her children, Gloria (the late Monty) Andrews and Ronald (Kathy) Ratulowski, both of Batavia; two sisters, Regina Hovey of East Pembroke and Irene Yourkovic of Florida and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and nieces and nephews.
Celia is the wife of the late Aloysius C. Ratulowski and mother of the late Jean Metz. She is a sister of the late Anthony Slominski, Stanley Slominski, Pearl Tatko, Rita Boring, Wanda Tempio and Helen Best.
Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main St., Batavia. Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 9:00 a.m. followed by Celia's Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Resurrection Parish - St. Joseph's Church, 303 East Main Street, Batavia. She will be laid to rest in Elmwood Cemetery, Batavia.
