Bergen - Charles R. Sickmond, 82, of Bergen, a retired manager at Eastman Kodak, passed away suddenly Tuesday, (June 4, 2013) at the United Memorial Medical Center, in Batavia.
Mr. Sickmond was born April 22, 1931 in Clyde, a son of the late Charles R. and Marjorie M. (Dobbin) Sickmond.
Chuck served his country honorably with the Marine Corps during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Sackett-Merrill-White Post 575 and the Hansen Brothers Marine Corps League Detachment #95.
He is survived by his wife, Mary U. (Unger) Sickmond whom he married July 17, 1961; daughters, Debra (Joseph) DelleFave of Chili, and Hon. Barbara (Timothy) Smith of Byron; grandchildren, Shannon (Richard) Burch of Lima, Shawna (Geoffrey Tuttle) Smith of Byron, Anthony (Lisette) DelleFave of Rochester, and Danielle DelleFave of Rochester ; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Pieper Burch of Lima, Bianca, Ashley, Anthony, and Olivia DelleFave of Rochester; a great-great-grandchild, Annalee DelleFave; his brother, C. Robert (Diane) Sickmond of Bloomfield; sisters, Mary (Robert) Stanley of Red Creek, and Ruth (David) Colbert of CA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends may call on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 51 South Lake Street, Bergen, where Chuck's Memorial Service will be immediately follow calling at 11. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Lung Association of Western New York, 1595 Elmwood Ave., Rochester, NY 14620. Burial will be in North Byron Cemetery.
