Mr. Chester L. Cratsley, 73, of Batavia, died Thursday (January 16, 2014) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Mr. Cratsley was born July 6, 1940 in Harrison Valley, PA, a son of the late LeRoy and Mildred (Quackenbush) Cratsley.
Mr. Cratsley enjoyed gardening, woodworking, fishing, hunting, traveling, camping, playing cards and joking around. He was a volunteer fireman with the South Byron Fire Department, drove truck for Suburban Propane in Rochester and also loved to be around people.
Survivors include his wife, Dawn (Redinger) Cratsley of Batavia; one son, Scott (Kirstie) Cratsley of Batavia; seven grandchildren, Chelsey, Taylor, Hannah, Alex, Zachary, Adam and Michael; one brother, Fred (Sonja) Cratsley of Dundee; four sisters, Mary Lou (Basil) McCutcheon, Shirley (Durrell) Houghaling, Jane (Bill) Putman, all of Pennsylvania, Sharon (Jeff) Dencenburg of Hammondsport and several nieces and nephews.
He is a brother of the late Lucy Force.
Calling hours are Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 238 Vine Street, Batavia. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday also at Grace Baptist Church. Burial will be in North Byron Cemetery, Byron.
Memorials may be made to the Cratsley family, to be distributed to various charities.
