Batavia - Clardon E. Drake, 65, of Batavia, passed away Thursday, (December 6, 2012) at Rochester General Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Drake was born October 6, 1947 in Clay, WV, a son of the late Harry and Ruth (Jeffrey) Drake.
Clardon was a true outdoors man. He loved to fish, hunt and garden. He was a mechanic, and enjoyed working on cars. One of his passions was watching old westerns and classic television shows. He also greatly enjoyed spending time with his family; but most of all, he loved coffee.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Snell) Drake, whom he married May 13, 1967; a daughter, Darlene (Glenn) Hart of Byron; granddaughters, Amanda Hart of Byron, Ashley (Ken) Morris of Byron, Brittney Hart of Byron; a great-grandson, Isaiah Baity of Byron; brothers, Harry "Buck" Drake of WV, Ralph "Eddy" (Martha) Drake of Owls Head, NY; sisters, Francis "Penny" Gibson of Hilton, Funice Wyant of WV, Patricia (Michael) Bannach of Binghamton. Several nieces and nephews and his loving canine companion, scooter also survive.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 1 to 3 p.m. at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia, where Clardon's Funeral Service will immediately follow calling at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
