Batavia - Cora J. Lyons, 72, of Batavia, passed away Tuesday, (July 22, 2014) at Strong Memorial Hospital, in Rochester.
Ms. Lyons was born July 27, 1941 in Batavia, a daughter of the late James and Dorothy (Betties) Lyons.
Cora enjoyed needlepoint and knitting. She loved all animals, cooking, gardening, going out to eat and watching her game shows.
She greatly cherished spending time with her grandchildren and listening to Elvis and Lawrence Welk.
Cora is survived by her children, Cheryl, Alicia, and Nicholas Lyons. A close friend, Donna Kroft also survives.
Friends may call on Thursday from 12 to 1 p.m. at H.E. Turner & Co, Inc., 403 East Main St., Batavia, where Cora's Funeral Service will immediately follow calling at 1. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. . Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Batavia.
