BATAVIA - On Monday, October 28, 2019, Cynthia "Cindi" Baldwin Lear, loving daughter, sister, aunt, companion and friend passed away peacefully in her sleep at 56. Cindi was born on August 29, 1963 in Albion, a daughter of Betty (Manes) Baldwin of Batavia and the late Harold Baldwin. She attended school at Oakfield-Alabama Central School and Genesee Community College. Cindi was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Fort Hood, Killeen, Texas. She later worked as a paralegal for various law firms in New York and Texas. She was also a licensed Mediator and Arbitrator. Cindi lived between Texas,Florida and New York most of her adult life. Cindi was a music lover of all genres and a walking encyclopedia of songs and artists. She enjoyed dancing to the beat from an early age. She was fun to be around and loved the beach. She loved being with family, playing games and reading. She was a history buff and loved political satire. She was a long time member of a Fantasy Football League in Batavia and loved her Buffalo Bills. Cindi also loved the Houston Astros, Houston Rockets, Texas Longhorns and Buffalo Sabres. Along with her mother, Cindi is survived by a sister, Linda Potter of Pearland, Texas; brother, Michael Baldwin of Batavia; and “the love of her life” Jeffrey Matla of Batavia; nieces, Nicole Watson, Julie Potter and Stephanie McGuire all of Texas; nieces and nephews "by choice," Ryan Barbeau, Kyle Shultz, Chase Shultz, Stacy Lear, Shannon Rivera, Melissa Cone, Michael Lear, Kyle Lear, Justin Lear, Ryan Lear, Aaron Lear and Pasquale Rapone. Several other aunts and uncles, and cousins also survive. There will be no prior visitation. All are welcome to attend Cindi's Memorial Service on Saturday, (November 9, 2019) at 12:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 306 E. Main Street, Batavia. The Rev. Raymond Walker will officiate. Burial will military honors will be private in Cary Cemetery, Oakfield. Memorial contributions may be made in Cindi’s name to the American Cancer Society, 101 John James Audubon Pkwy, Amherst, NY 14228. Arrangements for Cindi were entrusted to the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Ave., Oakfiled.
