Batavia - Miss D. Jeanne Ager, was born in Batavia on November 3, 1920 and passed away at the Genesee County Nursing Home on February 23, 2014.



She was the daughter of the late Gregory and Minerva Ager. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Grinnell and Eileen Barton and her brother Gregory Ager, her niece, Jacqueline Stokes Miller and her nephew, Paul Barton.



She is survived by her sister Frances Stokes and brother-in-law Donald Stokes with whom she vacationed with for many years on Sanibel Island and Cape Cod.



She was a loving second mother to her nieces and nephews, Tom, Terry and Ted Stokes; J.G., David and Keith Grinnell. Also survived by their spouses, Deb and Barb Stokes; Jean, Marilyn and Karen Grinnell; Lloyd Miller and Jeff Fletcher. She is also survived by several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Although born with physical disabilities, she lived a full and active life. She enjoyed doing many crafts, especially making handmade felt Christmas ornaments and beautiful hand-knitted sweaters for many years.



Friends may call on Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia, where services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Memorials are suggested to the Genesee County Nursing Home, 278 Bank Street, Batavia, New York 14020 or to the First Presbyterian Church of Batavia, 300 East Main Street, Batavia, New York 14020. Burial will be in Grand View Cemetery, Batavia.
