East Bethany - Mr. David Keller Conn, 86, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at New York State Veteran's Home in Batavia.
He was born November 10, 1926 in Batavia to the late Theodore R. and Mary Keller Conn.
He was predeceased by a sister, Polly Whitney of Leicester and two brothers, Allen and Bill Conn of Batavia.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Manhardt Conn; two daughters, Diana Page (Kevin Hale) of Batavia, and Kristine Conn of Philadelphia; his granddaughter, Stacey (Tim) Wescott of Batavia; three great-grandchildren, Zachery Porter, Brenden and Olivia Wescott, all of Batavia; three step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He served in the U.S. Army Motor Pool and drove truck for Maslin Brothers in Buffalo and later for Worster Motor Lines in Bergen where he was also a dispatcher. He also worked at Markin Tubing in Wyoming.
He enjoyed deer hunting, gardening, woodworking, photography, especially of nature and spending time with his family, particularly his three great-grandchildren. He was a former member of the Town of Bethany Planning Board. He was an avid walker, going all over East Bethany, and stopping to visit with many local friends on his route.
Friends may call on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Bohm-Calarco-Smith Funeral Home, 308 East Main Street, Batavia where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial, with full military honors will follow at East Bethany Cemetery.
