Dolores M. Dennis
Oakfield/Alabama - Dolores M. Dennis, 83, of Medina, a buyer at Peterson Services in Oakfield for 41 years prior to her retirement, died Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Medina.
Mrs. Dennis was born March 13, 1930 in Alabama, NY, a daughter of the late Raymond and Bessie (Newton) Smith.
She was a member of the East Shelby Community Bible Church, former Alabama Rebecca Lodge and Alabama Firemen's Ladies Aux. Her passion was baking cakes for all occasions. She baked cakes for 30 years and they were enjoyed by many in several states. She loved to cook for Sunday gatherings with her family and was an avid crafts person and painter.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur W. Dennis, of Medina, whom she married September 18, 1948;
3 children, Paula Ann (Daniel) Luker and Alan Raymond (Deborah) Dennis, both of Oakfield and Wendy Jean Dennis (Dennis Sendker) of Lancaster; a sister, Arlene Smith Snyder of Medina; 6 grandchildren, Kimberly Ann (Edward) Staniszewski of Batavia, Jeffrey (Sue) Luker of Darien, Katie (Daniel) Manges of Oakfield, Todd (Megan) Dennis of Batavia, James Garrett (Randi Reiss) of Corfu and Kelly Garrett of Lancaster; 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may attend services at 5 p.m. Sunday at East Shelby Community Bible Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Orchard Manor Nursing Home, 600 Bates Rd., Medina, NY 14103 or to East Shelby Community Bible Church, 5278 E. Shelby Rd., Medina, NY 14103. Burial will be in Cary Cemetery in Oakfield.
