Obituary of Dolores "Dee" Elizabeth Ognibene




Batavia - Dolores "Dee" Elizabeth Ognibene, 84, of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 30, 2019, at The Grand Rehabilitation And Nursing in Batavia.



Dolores was born February 5, 1935, in Batavia, to the late Vance Frisby and Alice Gund Grice.



She was a beloved wife, mother and sister who was a devoted Catholic. She loved animals and started riding quarter horses at the age of 39. She traveled all over New York State, along with Canada, Texas and the Eastern United States for over 30 years winning numerous awards that include World Championship in Oklahoma and All America Quarter Horse Congress in Ohio.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 64 years, Joseph; beloved children; Stephen Joseph (Loretta) Ognibene, Joni (Thomas) Yaskulski, Rosanne (Mark) Bertolani, Michael (Bonnie) Ognibene and Maria Dolores (Scott) Soeffing; beloved grandchildren; Sara, Joseph, Matthew, Stephen Ryan Ognibene, Melanie (Daniel) Deemer, Michael (Rema) Yaskulski, Mark (Carol) Bertolani, Anthony Bertolani,Samantha (Ryan) Macdonald, Jennifer (Jonathan) Flannery, Kristine Elizabeth (Steven) Cummings, Mariah and Mia Ognibene, Philip, Amo, Vincent, Angelina, Dylan and Jesse Soeffing; beloved great-grandchildren; Thomas and Benjamin Deemer, Michael II and Eden Yaskulski, Ryan Jr. and Andrew Macdonald and Maximus and Mercedes Flannery; her loving and devoted sister; Elizabeth (Nicholas) Spiotta; sisters-in-law Katherine Ognibene and Mary Dee Ognibene along with several nieces and nephews.



She is predeceased by her son, Joseph; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Ognibene; grandchildren, Timothy and Stephanie Ognibene; brothers-in-law, Lawrence and Samuel Ognibene and sisters-in-law; Josephine Ognibene and Rose Giordano.

Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Monday at St. Joseph's Church, 303 East Main Street, Batavia. Her Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow visitation at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Paul Bonacci officiating. She will be laid to rest in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to Crossroads House, P.O. Box 403, Batavia, New York 14021.
