Obituary of Donald William Brinkman
Batavia - Donald William Brinkman, 74, of Batavia, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2019, at home surrounded by family while under HomeCare & Hospice.
Don was born in Batavia on August 11, 1944, to the late Holden and Loretta (Woolever) Brinkman.
He served honorably with the United States Army from 1965 to 1967. He then returned to his previous employment at Lapp Insulator until he retired from there in 2009. Don will be remembered as a hardworking, quiet, loving family man. He very much enjoyed family gatherings and cherished time spent with his three young granddaughters, especially fun at "Grandpa's" pool.
Surviving are his devoted wife, Janet (German) Brinkman, whom he married on November 6, 1965; his loving daughter, Julie Brinkman of Batavia; his son, Rodney (Sabrina) Brinkman of Seneca, SC; three granddaughters, Kirsten, Sara and Caitlyn Brinkman also of South Carolina; two sisters, Barbara Brown and Bonnie (Larry) Horine, of Batavia; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Brinkman of Bergen; a brother-in-law, David (Marjorie) German of Batavia; a sister-in-law, Maureen German of Tennessee and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Donald was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Richard Brinkman Sr., Dennis and Kathleen Brinkman and Carl and Elaine Brinkman.
Calling hours are Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia, where services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. Donald will be laid to rest with full military honors in Elmwood Cemetery, Batavia.
