Batavia - Donald H. Churchill, 81, of Batavia, passed away Monday, (July 29, 2013) at United Memorial Medical Center, in Batavia, following a brief illness.
Mr. Churchill was born June 27, 1932 in Batavia, a son of the late Howard and Elsie (Erhardt) Churchill.
Don will be remembered as a hard worker and family man. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren; and in his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He could often be found in his backyard after lunch, feeding the squirrels.
He is survived by his wife, Freda (Hale) Churchill, whom he married in 1952, his three daughters, Chris Churchill of Elba, Vicky Churchill of Buffalo, and Charley (Jim) Northup of Byron, a sister, Marjorie (Richard) Walls of Elba. 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Churchill is preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Sullivan.
Friends may call on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield, where Donald's Funeral Service will immediately follow calling at 11. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Volunteers For Animals, P.O. Box 1621, Batavia, NY 14021. Burial will be in Cary Cemetery, Oakfield.
