Batavia - Donald L. Bausch, 75, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 5, 2018 on the beach at the Outer Banks in North Carolina while on vacation. Don was born August 21, 1942 in Batavia, a son of the late J. Albert and Margaret Stedman Bausch. He graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1960, attended St. Bernard College in Cullman, Alabama for 2 years and graduated from St. John Fisher College in 1965 with a degree in business management. Don began working for Westinghouse Electric Supply after graduation where he held various management roles in Rochester, Utica, Virginia as well as being regional manager for upstate New York.   He spent the last 20 years of his career working for Kovalsky-Carr  Electric in Rochester.  For nine years he was self-employed at Wagner Bausch Electric in LeRoy and for a short time he owned the former Scotty’s Charbroil in Batavia.  His business associates remember him as a hardworking and fair person that was always a pleasure to deal with. As an active member of Resurrection Parish he was often seen at daily Mass as well as serving as lector and Eucharistic minister.  He was President of the Holy Family School Association, elected to four terms on the Village Board of LeRoy and Vice Mayor of LeRoy.  Throughout the years he served on many electrical boards and committees both locally and nationally.  An avid golfer, he was a member of Stafford Country Club since 1975 and served as President.  He was a Past President of the Notre Dame High School board and member of the United Memorial Medical Center Foundation Board for nine years.  An avid fund raiser for both St. John Fisher College and Wilmot Cancer Center, he gave back to his community through other various organizations. Don married his high school sweetheart, Joan Dickinson Bausch on August 22, 1964.  Also surviving are one son, D. Scott (Trish) Bausch of Baldwinsville; two daughters, Kimberly Ann Bausch Fagan and Colleen (Christopher) Pilc, both of Batavia; three brothers, Richard (Nancy Dugan) Bausch of Silver Lake, Robert (Jan) Bausch of Bergen and Fr. Michael Bausch of Pittsford. He was the grandfather of Justin, Amanda and Donald Fagan; Craig and Courtney Pilc and Johnathan, Tyler and Nicholas Bausch and great grandfather of Maylee Colon and Autumn Grace Fagan.  A sister-in-law Bernie Bausch of Wisconsin and several nieces and nephews also survive.  He was the brother of the late Thomas Bausch. Friends may call on Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Bohm-Calarco-Smith Funeral Home, 308 East Main Street, Batavia.   His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by his brother, Fr. Michael Bausch, on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 18 Ellicott Street, Batavia.  He will be laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Batavia.
