Obituary of Dora (Nanni) Genesky
Oakfield -Dora (Nanni) Genesky, 92, of Oakfield passed away peacefully on November 12, 2019 at Kenmore Mercy Hospital after a brief stay.
Dora was born on October 24, 1927 in South Alabama, New York, the daughter of the late Enrico and Filomena (DeNofrio) Nanni, Italian immigrants.
Dora is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Robert Genesky; her children; Derek (Elizabeth Balbick) Genesky of Batavia, New York; Martin (Judi Fischbach) Genesky of Alpharetta, Georgia; John (Terry Agro) Genesky of Kenmore, New York; Bruce (Patricia Heckathorn) Genesky of Holland, Michigan; and Donna Genesky of Kenmore, New York; six grandchildren, Geoffrey Genesky, Eric Genesky, Lauren Genesky, Derek Comer, Christian Genesky, Alex Genesky and two great grand-children; a brother, Ugo Nanni of Largo, Florida, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by six brothers Eugene Nanni, Edmund Nanni, Bruno Nanni, Arthur Nanni, infant Enrico Nanni, Jr. and Enrico Nanni, Jr.
A long-time member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Oakfield New York, Dora was active in parish life for many years in the Alter and Rosary Society. She was a March of Dimes volunteer and took pride in her civic work on the local elections board. Dora’s greatest joys were in caring for and loving her family, frequently demonstrated by bringing her family together to share an expertly prepared holiday meal or a simple Sunday dinner.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 10:00 am at St. Padre Pio Parish Catholic Church, 56 Maple Avenue, Oakfield, New York. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dora's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memorial Processing, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 or online at
