Batavia - Mrs. Dorothy Clay Glidden, 92, of Batavia, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014 at the Genesee County Nursing Home.
Mrs. Glidden was born February 16, 1922 in Flat River, Missouri, a daughter of the late John and Virginia Holley Clay.
Mrs. Glidden was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Batavia for many years and a member of Stafford Country Club for over 30 years. An avid bridge player, she was also a member of the area bridge clubs.
Her husband, Dr. Sawyer A. Glidden, passed away on February 25, 2001.
She is survived by her sons, John S. (Moira) Glidden of East Bethany and James F. (Denise) Glidden of Batavia and three grandchildren, Matthew Ryan Glidden, Sarah Ann Glidden and Emily Virginia Glidden.
She is predeceased by her sons, Andrew C. and Charles M. Glidden.
There are no prior visiting hours. Friends are invited to her funeral service on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 300 East Main Street, Batavia. Please consider memorial contributions to the Genesee County Nursing Home, 278 Bank Street, Batavia, New York 14020. Burial will be in Grand View Cemetery, Batavia.
