Niagara Falls - Eddie L. Miles, Sr., 73, of Niagara Falls, formerly of Batavia, departed this life on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at the Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.
He was born February 17, 1942 in Roba, Alabama to William, Sr. and Estella Lee Miles.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and dancing, and truly loved every day of his life.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of 51 years, Bertha M. Miles; six children, Sandra (Ron) Horne of Colquitt, Georgia, Duane Edward (Stacey) Miles, Sr. of Niagara Falls, Stacy Miles-McNeill of Niagara Falls, Shawn Miles of Rochester, Eddie L. (Pop) Miles, Jr. of Georgia and Serena Martinez of Northport, Florida; two brothers, Willie Adams of OH and William Miles of Somerville; two sisters, Hattie (Benjamin) Ligon of Elba and Ethel Miles of Rochester; a sister-in-law, Sara (Tobe) Green of Donalsonville, Georgia; 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his son, Derrick Miles of Miami, Florida and his siblings, Frank Swanson, Lee Miles, Annie B. Crimes, Essie Owens, Missouri Whiteside and Cora Allison.
Friends may call on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia. His home going service will be at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 516 Ellicott Street, Batavia. He will be laid to rest in Elmwood Cemetery.
