Batavia - Elin M. (nee Dermody) Covalciuc, 67, of Batavia, died Saturday (April 27, 2013) at the Genesee County Nursing Home in Batavia.
Elin was born September 22, 1945 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Steigerwald) Dermody.
She enjoyed playing bingo, scrabble and doing crossword puzzles and was a lab technician at the University of Nebraska.
Survivors include a daughter, Tina (Jeffrey) Maranville of Omaha, NE; a brother, Steve (Joan) Dermody of Bergen; three sisters, Judith (nee Dermody) (Robert) Zangas of Manchester, MO, Naomi (nee Dermody) Hanlon of Glens Falls and Christine (nee Dermody) (Raymond) Sexton of Rochester; a sister-in-law, Jeanne Dermody of Elba; three grandchildren, Devan M. Stubbs, Kaylie A. Maranville and Aubree Maranville; a great-grandchild, Michael J. Stubbs and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by a brother, John F. Dermody.
Calling hours are Wednesday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Bohm-Calarco-Smith Funeral Home, 308 East Main Street, Batavia. Services will be at 3:00 on Wednesday, also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Maplelawn Cemetery, Elba.
