Elba - Emma W. McMillan, 97, of Elba, passed away Saturday, (December 22, 2012) at Aaron Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, in Penfield.
Mrs. McMillan was born October 9, 1915 in Buffalo, a daughter of the late Emil and Marie (Geppert) Wentland Arras.
Emma was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and a past member of the Elba Historical Society. She enjoyed gardening and quilting and was active with the Batavia Quilters at the Senior Center. Mrs. McMillan also knitted baby hats for United Memorial Medical Center.
She is the wife of the late Alvin N. McMillan, who passed away on June 13, 1998.
Mrs. McMillan is survived by her children, Karen (Edward) Wright of Penfield and Paul (Joan C.) McMillan of Stephentown, NY; grandchildren, Edward M. (Melinda) Wright of Auburn, David M. Wright of Earlville, NY, Steven P. Wright of Cortland, Wendy W. (Mark) Gundlach of Madison, NJ, Bryan McMillan, and Carrie (David) Thompson of Fredricksburg, VA; 4 great-grandchildren; as well as a sister, Ida E. (late Francis) Reimann of Getzville.
Along with her husband, Emma is preceded in death by her siblings, Olga (late Charles) Linkner, Raymond (late Marie) Wentland and Edward (late Mildred) Wentland.
Friends may call on Friday from 9:30 to 11:30 am at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia, where Emma's Funeral Service will immediately follow calling at 11:30. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made the St. Paul Lutheran Church, 31 Washington Ave., Batavia, NY 14020. Burial will be in Elmlawn Cemetery, Buffalo.
