Batavia - Mrs. Ethel Ruth Lee, 99, of Batavia, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the Genesee County Nursing Home.



Mrs. Lee was born September 10, 1914 in Buffalo, a daughter of the late Robert Wallace and Emma Louise Wilson Chamberlain.



A member and choir member of the Alden Presbyterian Church, Mrs. Lee was a former Girl Scout and Boy Scout Leader. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #879, New Horizon where she served as a past grand officer. She enjoyed reading, knitting, plastic canvas and was an avid gardener that had a love for plants and flowers.



She and her late husband, Burton were avid square dancers

.

Her husband, Burton Willis Lee, Jr. passed away on October 9, 1991.



She is survived by her children, Burton (Sally) Lee, III of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; two daughters, June R. Lee and L. Janet Lee, both of Batavia; her sister, Lillian (late Rudy) Jantz of Cheyenne, Wyoming; two grandchildren, Benjamin Lee of Maryland and Elizabeth Lee of New York City and nieces and nephews.

She is the sister of the late Julia (late Charles) Spaulding.



Friends may call on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia and on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 300 East Main Street, Batavia, where services, including an Order of the Eastern Star service, will immediately follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Buffalo.
