Batavia - Everett A. Johnson, 57, of Batavia, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at United Memorial Medical Center.
Mr. Johnson was born January 5, 1957 in Batavia, a son of the late Percy A. Johnson, Jr. and Helen McGinnis Johnson.
A longtime resident of the Genesee County Nursing Home, Everett volunteered many hours at the daycare center at the nursing home and played Santa Claus for the children during the Christmas season. He also participated in the annual Alzheimer's Walk that was held at the nursing home.
He was a fan of NASCAR and would root for Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and Dale Earnhardt, Jr.
Survivors include his sister, Monica Summers of Oakfield; nieces and nephews, Tamielle Holmes of Ohio, Matthew Johnson and Christina Harmon, both of Batavia and Jeremy Summers of East Bethany and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He is predeceased by his brothers, Percy A. Johnson, III and Johnnie Johnson.
Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia, where services will follow at 7 p.m. Private burial will be in Warsaw Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to the family.
