ELBA - Frances Antoinette' Dickes, 80, of Elba, passed away on Friday, December 28, 2018, at her home in Elba. Mrs. Dickes was born November 7, 1938, in Rochester, a daughter of the late Jan and Evelyn (Wadsworth) VanWyngaarden, Sr.. She was a life-long member of the Byron Presbyterian Church and an avid bowler at Mancuso Lanes. Survivors include 5 children, Tammy (David A.) Donahue of Elba, Sue Jeffery of Brockport, Ginger (Lewis) Esten of Elba, Sjaan (David) Kaufman of Buffalo and Michael Dickes of Oakfield; 2 brothers "Dutch" (Karen) VanWyngaarden of Byron and Johannes "Tiny" VanWyngaarden of Clifton Springs; a sister, Sharon (Neal) Dickes of Batavia; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was the sister of the late JanWyngaarden, Jr., Dirk VanWyngaarden, Mary Wass and Johanna Berry. Friends may attend her funeral service at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2018 at the Byron Presbyterian Church with Rev. James Renfrew officiating. . In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Frances’s name to a charity of the donor's choice. Burial will be in Daws Corners Cemetery in the Town of Batavia. Arrangements were completed by H.E.
