Batavia - Francis W. Whitmyre, Sr., 78, of Batavia, formerly of Holley, passed away Tuesday, (December 29, 2015) at his home, in Batavia.
Mr. Whitmyre was born March 8, 1937 in Milton, PA, a son of the late John and Margaret (Coup) Whitmyre.
Francis was a member of the VFW in Holley and was a great supporter of the post. He loved wrestling, gardening, wood working, and was an avid lotto player. He also greatly enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving are his children, Pamela Whitmyre-Dickinson, Margaret Whitmyre, April (James Jr.) Connors, and Francis Whitmyre Jr. all of Batavia; grandchildren, James (Amber) Connors III of Rochester, Anna Connors of NC, Joshua and Rachael Pashong both of Batavia. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He is preceded in death by a son, John William Whitmyre as well as a brother and two sisters.
There will be no prior visitation and services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Homecare & Hospice, 29 Liberty Street, Suite #6, Batavia, NY 14020
Arrangements were entrusted to the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 E. Main St., Batavia.
