Batavia - Fred A. Drew passed away peacefully, February 19, 2013 after a brief illness.
Fred was born in 1921 in Brighton, Mass.; and lived and worked in Niagara Falls, Buffalo and Batavia. Fred owned several businesses, including Batavia Insurance and Realty Center, which he founded with his wife and partner Dolores Drew.
Fred was a proud veteran of WWII and an active member of several organizations including the DAV and Kiwanis.
Predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Dolores; loving father of Michael J. Drew, James W. (Peggy) Drew, Jean M. (John) Vander Linden, Patricia A. Drew, Mary (John) Squires, Helen A. (Nellie) Drew-Meosky, (Paul Meosky), sister, Catherine Tarte, grandfather to many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and uncle to several nieces and nephews.
Fred was known for his humor, love of family and passion for restoring antique cars.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22 at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main St., Batavia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23 at Resurrection Parish - St. Joseph Church, 303 East Main St., Batavia.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to All Babies Cherished, 445 Ellicott St., Batavia, NY 14020 or Lifetime Assistance Foundation, 425 Paul Rd., Rochester, NY 14624. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Batavia.
