George Laurence “Larry” Goodale, age 80, of Bergen, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loved ones.
Larry was born on August 28, 1944, in Rochester, a son of the late George L. Goodale.
Larry was an adventurous man, he cycled through Europe as a young man on a bicycle. Larry loved sports and was a batboy for the Rochester Red Wings and played baseball for Springfield College. Larry enjoyed tennis, skiing, and baseball. He coached soccer for over a decade for the Byron-Bergen Summer Program. Larry was also an avid pigeon fancier.
Larry attended Springfield college and the University of Rochester. After a ski trip met the love of his life, Pamela Scharvogel, who works for Clinique Cosmetic Co. and lovingly stood by Larry until the end. Together they raised two children. He worked in Quality Control at Kodak until his retirement.
Surviving is his wife, Pamela Lee Goodale of Bergen; children, Lee (Rebecca) Goodale of King Ferry and Josh Goodale of Churchville; grandchildren, Jacob, Leah, Charlize, and Callie Goodale; siblings, Don, Leslie, and Kathy; brother-in-law, William Scharvogel, and sister-in-law, Karen (Richard) Boehly; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of H.E. Turner & Co., Inc. Funeral Home, Bergen. Burial will be at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery, Churchville, at the convenience of the family.
