Gerald C. Rowcliffe, 75, of Batavia and formerly of Elba, died Thursday (July 28, 2016) at the Batavia Health Care Center in Batavia.
Gerald was born May 14, 1941 in Batavia, a son of the late Roy and Beatrice (Carver) Rowcliffe.
He was an owner at Roy C. Rowcliffe & Sons Growers in Elba. Gerald owned race horses with Row-Gil Stables, coached minor league baseball and worked part time at Max Pies in Batavia.
Survivors include his wife, Carol (Ferrara) Rowcliffe of Batavia; his children, Carrie (Joe) DiFrancesco of Haliburton, Ontario ,Tara (Mike) Minor of Rochester and Shawn (Michele) Rowcliffe of Farmington; his grandchildren, Angi DiFrancesco, Danny DiFrancesco, Leah (TJ) Peca, Jimmy (fiancée Lindsay Manning) DiFrancesco, Maddie Minor, Travis Minor, Mitchel Minor and Olivia Rowcliffe; three great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his brother, Donald Rowcliffe and his grandson, Austin Rowcliffe.
A Celebration of Life will be on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at City Slickers (on the patio), 59 Main Street in Batavia. Private burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Elba. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
