Herbert H. Lamkin
Elba - Herbert H. Lamkin, 85, of Elba, the owner of Herb Lamkin & Son Heating in Batavia, died Saturday, January 27, 2018 at United Memorial Medical Center, in Batavia.
Mr. Lamkin was born August 12, 1932 in Lackawanna, a son of the late Norman and Ida (Schambers) Lamkin.
He served with the US Army as a radio dispatcher during the Korean War. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. He was an avid Yankees, Bills and Sabres fan and was an avid fisherman and bowler.
He is survived by his wife, Marie (Hale) Lamkin, whom he married on March 7, 1962; 4 children, James (Norma) Clor of FL, Sandra (Neil) Weinberg of Clarence, Patty (Scott) Benson of Elba and Robert Scott Lamkin of Pavilion; 7 grandchildren, Bryan Benson of Batavia, Joshua Benson, Allyssa L Lamkin and Kody Lamkin, all of LeRoy, David (Denise) Clor of Pavilion, Ronald Clor of Clarence and Michael Terry Clor of Alden; 2 brothers, Kenneth (Patricia) Lamkin of TX and Richard Lamkin of Batavia; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Shirley M. Cotton.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, 200 S.E. 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131. Burial will be in Grand View Cemetery, Batavia. Arrangements were completed by H.E. Turner & Co., Funeral Home of Batavia.
