Mr. Howard R. Ivison, 88, a lifetime resident of the Byron area, died Wednesday, January 1, 2014 in Palmetto, Forida.
Mr. Ivison was born May 14, 1925 in South Byron, a son of the late Harold and Alice Scoins Ivison.
He was a member of South Byron United Methodist Church, life member of both the Byron Fire Department and the Loyal Order of the Moose and member of the Oddfellows.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene Rudd Ivison whom he married November 27, 1946. Also surviving are two sons, Kenneth (Carole) Ivison of Pennsylvania and William "Bo" Ivison of Batavia; two daughters, Karen (late David) Fuller of The Villages, Florida and Jane Ivison of Byron; one brother, Homer (Janet) Ivison of South Byron; one sister, Loraine (Donald) Porter of Florida; a sister-in-law, Josephine Ivison of Byron; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He is the father of the late Beverly Ivison, brother of the late Duane Ivison, Stuart Ivison and Thelma Clealand.
Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 E. Main St., Batavia where services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Byron Cemetery.
