Basom - James R. Houser, 80, of Basom, passed away Friday, (December 12, 2014) at Buffalo General Medical Center, in Buffalo.
Mr. Houser was born March 4, 1934 in Batavia, a son of the late James B. and Blanche (Warren) Houser, Sr.
Jim enjoyed doing word search puzzles and painting. His cats, Fluffy, Gizmo, and Salem as well as his dog, Zeus were the loves of his life.
He is survived by his close friends, Linda (Mike) Fitzsimmons of Basom.
His is the brother of the late Sybil Jamison, Shirley Wood, and Dorothy Worthington-Johnston.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 5 to 7 pm at Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield, where Jim's Funeral Services will immediately follow calling at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Volunteers For Animals, P.O. Box 1621, Batavia, NY 14021. Burial will be in Cary Cemetery, Oakfield.
