Bergen - Mrs. Jean R. Sapienza, 88, of Bergen, employee of Eastman Kodak Co. in Rochester, passed on Saturday May 19th at home.
Mrs. Sapienza was born August 22, 1923 in Canandaigua, a daughter of the late Paul and Gertrude Bowllan Tuohey.
A graduate of Canandaigua Academy, she was a member of St. Brigid's Church, the Ladies of Charity and Mrs. Sapienza served as a den mother for the Boy Scouts. She will be remembered as being very family oriented with a great sense of humor who cherished her many friendships. Mrs. Sapienza enjoyed knitting, baking and bowling.
Her husband of 55 years, Joseph L. Sapienza, passed away on January 27, 2005.
She is survived by three sons, Dennis (Anne) Sapienza of Bergen, Donald (Kathleen DeLaney) Sapienza of Williamsville and Lee Sapienza of Albany; two daughters, Joann (Michael) Starowitz and Karen (Joel) Sapienza-Hall, both of Bergen; six grandchildren, William and Andrew Sapienza, Kaitlyn (Paul) Chmielowiec, Matthew Starowitz and Kara and Ethan Hall, her beloved dog and companion Mr. Ted; her sister, Jane (late William) Vickers of Florida; her sister-in-law, Nancy Tuohey of Chili; and and several nieces and nephews.
She is the sister of the late James Tuohey and Mary (late Tony) D'Ambrosio.
