Batavia - Joan E. Hale, 92, of Batavia, died Wednesday (August 24, 2022) at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia, surrounded by her family.
She was born November 14, 1929, the daughter of the late Frank and Agnes (Gilliam) Hulburt.
A member of Resurrection Parish, she enjoyed a dedicated and rewarding career at St. Jerome's Hospital in Batavia, much of which was served in the Coronary Care Unit. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved to attend her children and grandchildren's sporting events along with being a devoted Buffalo Bills and Sabres fan.
Joan is predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Richard; brothers, Frank and Jack; and sister, Mary.
She is survived by her four sons, Richard (Nancy) of Seminole, Florida, Terry (Loretta) of St. Petersburg, Florida, Brian (Valerie) of Conesus Lake, and Kevin (Kimberly) of Oakfield; sister, Jane Hamera of North Chili; grandchildren, Christie (Nathan) of St. Petersburg, Florida, Ashley of St. Petersburg, Florida, Tyler of Oakfield, Erin of Vero Beach, Florida, Michael and Michaela of Oakfield; great-grandchildren, Steele and Saylor of St. Petersburg, Florida. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
There will be no visitation. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crossroads House, PO Box 403, Batavia, New York 14021.
