Oakfield - John W. Mills, 62, of Oakfield, a heavy equipment operator at the Genesee County Highway Dept. in Batavia, prior to his retirement in 2009, died Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at his home.
Mr. Mills was born August 2, 1954 in Batavia, a son of the late George and Pauline (Bridges) Mills.
He enjoyed working on his farm.
Survivors include his life partner, Carol Wilkosz of Oakfield; 3 brothers, Robert Mills, Olin (Lynne) Mills, and George (Toni) Mills, all of Alabama; several nieces and nephews.
He is the brother of the late Barbara Kingdom and Joyce Starkweather.
Friends may call on Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Ave., Oakfield, where services will follow at Noon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, Genesee Cancer Assistance, Inc., Crossroads House or to Homecare & Hospice. Private burial will be at Reed Cemetery in Oakfield.
