Mrs. Katherine E. Bork, 90, of Oakfield, an employee at the former GTE Sylvania in Batavia, died Sunday, July 22, 2012 at United Memorial Medical Center, in Batavia.
Mrs. Bork was born November 18, 1921 in Straton, PA, a daughter of the late Edward and Katherine (Kyre) May.
She was a member of Oakfield United Methodist Church, and former member of the Indian Falls United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting and crochet. She worked at the former Alexander's Department Store and Oakfield Alabama Schools in the kitchen.
Her husband, Everett E. Bork, died March 25, 2011.
Survivors include her son, Brian Bork of Oakfield, her daughter, Sharon Bork of Batavia, her half-sister, Hester Gwynne of Corfu; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was the sister of the late Francis May, Edward May, Jr. Evelyn Wald and Winifred Tinti and half-sister of the late Mildred Hill, George May, Gladys May, John May and Everett C. May.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield, where service will immediately follow at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to Oakfield Fire Department, P.O. Box 184, Oakfield, NY 14125. Burial will be in Grand View Cemetery.
