Basom - Mrs. Katherine A. Raduns, 95, of Basom, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home.
Mrs. Raduns was born March 17, 1919 in Shelby, a daughter of the late Edward and Florence Eick Wolter.
A longtime and active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Medina, Mrs. Raduns was a former Sunday School Teacher and taught at the church's Vacation Bible School. She was a member of the Alabama Cemetery Association for over 20 years, where she served as the association's secretary. She was a home demonstrator for Cooperative Extension and was an avid quilter who made over 100 quilts a year for home relief.
Her husband, Carl R. Raduns, passed away on February 10, 1987.
She is survived by her sons, Gerald (Bonnie) Raduns of Basom and Robert (Deborah) Raduns of Webster; three grandchildren, Jonathan (Elizabeth) Raduns of New Jersey, Nathan (Ashton) Raduns of Batavia and Elizabeth Raduns of New Jersey; her great-grandsons, Noah and Isaac Raduns, both of New Jersey; her sister, Doris Schuner of Medina and several nieces and nephews.
She is the sister of the late Paul Wolter and Marjorie Schuner.
There are no prior visiting hours. Friends and family are invited to her funeral service on Monday at 7 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1212 West Avenue, Medina. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to the Alabama Fire Department, P.O. Box 798, Basom, New York 14013 or to Trinity Lutheran Church, 1212 West Avenue, Medina, New York 14103. Private burial will be in Alabama Cemetery.
