Kathleen M. Hyde, of Byron, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 14th, 2025, at the age of 75. Born in Batavia, on April 30th, 1949, Kathleen led a life full of love, service, and dedication to her community and family.
Kathleen was a cherished member of the Northgate Free Methodist Church, where she was actively involved in the Saturday Night Live Bible Study and the church’s bereavement program. Her faith and commitment to helping others were evident in everything she did, including her involvement with the Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign and her dedicated hours preparing donations during the Christmas season.
A passionate educator, Kathleen found her calling in teaching at Cornerstone Christian Academy in Brockport. Her influence extended beyond the classroom, inspiring countless students with her wisdom and kindness.
Beyond her professional life, Kathleen achieved the honor of a 5th degree black belt at Collamer Jones Karate in Bergen, demonstrating her perseverance and dedication to personal growth. She also served her community as a poll person for elections through the Town of Byron. Kathleen had a zest for life, enjoying art shows, antiquing, and collecting glass. She cherished every moment spent with her grandson, creating a legacy of love and warmth that will endure in the hearts of her family and friends.
Kathleen's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her devoted son, Adam (Caitlin) Hyde of Bergen; her beloved grandson, Paul Alan Hyde of Bergen; her brothers, William (late Linda) Hume and Robert Hume, both residing in Arizona; her sister, Judith (Donald) Silvernail of Arizona; and several cherished nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary C. Kocur Hume and William M. Hume, as well as her beloved spouse, Alan A. Hyde.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of faith, service, and love will continue to inspire all who were blessed to have known her.
