Ransomville - Mr. Kris A. Porter, 66, of Ransomville, 25 year employee for 84 Lumber, died Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Mount Saint Mary's Hospital, in Lewiston.
Mr. Porter was born September 18, 1946 in Batavia, a son of the late Duane and Dorothy Schuler Porter.
Kris was an avid gardener and enjoyed history and traveling, especially taking trips to Maine. He will be remembered as a devoted family man. He also worked at the Modern in Lewiston following his employment with 84 Lumber.
He is survived by his wife, Lynda J. Dorf Porter whom he married September 16, 1967; two sons, Jeffrey D. (Tommilyn Hamilton) Porter of Marysville, Washington and David M. (Paula) Porter of Olathe, Kansas; two granddaughters, Courtney and Mary Beth Porter; five brothers, Craig (late Lynda) Porter, Casey (Kim) Porter, Clay (Tanya) Porter, Kevin Porter and Keith Porter; a sister, Karen (Bruce) Vereecken and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia. Graveside services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at Maple Lawn Cemetery, 7 Maple Avenue, Elba.
